Scenes From An Imaginary Western

My art, My Stories

I’d Like Some Scrapple and a Large ‘Painting of the Day’ (Thursday edition) June 16, 2011

Howdy! I have a drawing for you today. It’s from the Periphery series. At the time, I did it I was reading a book called ‘Blind Lake’ by Robert Charles Wilson (great, paranoid SF). In the book, there is a bit of a problem with machines (to put it simply) and one of the characters asks ‘Do you think it dreams?’ That, of course, got me thinking and I decided to draw my own abstract machine (it’s got an eye) and answer the question posed by the character in that novel: yes Charlie…it dreams. Have a great one everybody!

Howdy folks! I have a photo for you today. It features our little robot friend standing over the body of his plastic buddy/enemy (?). The name of this series is ‘No Country for Old Bots’ (word play…brilliant). To me these are very funny, and I had a great time setting up the crime scene. Spent a lot of time laying on the floor. Have a great weekend everybody!

Hi folks! I have another photograph for you today. It features our friend the robot in a much darker (and funnier) setting. This picture is from a short series called ‘No Country for Old Bots’ (word play…brilliant). That’s a Hank Williams, Jr. doll sprawled on the floor behind the killer bot. I really like these.
